Tuition and Scholarships

Cornerstone Prep Comparable to the Best Private Prep Schools

Cornerstone Preparatory School provides an education value comparable to the best local private preparatory schools costing over $17,000 per year.  But we recognize that not everyone living in an urban setting can afford these schools.

Scholarships Available Based on Need

At Cornerstone Prep, students may qualify for tuition scholarships.  These scholarships are based on need, size of family and income.  Additionally, scholarships are partially based on the Income Eligibility Guidelines established by the Food and Nutrition Service of the USDA.

Every Student Has the Opportunity to Attend

The purpose of the scholarships is to enable all students to have the opportunity to attend a preparatory school. Students may be supported financially by Cornerstone Prep from the time they enter the school until the time they graduate from the fifth grade.  The student will be eligible for the scholarship as long as he/she meets the academic and behavioral requirements of the school, and as long as parents are current each year on their portion of tuition.

Tuition Based on Sliding Scale

Tuition is based on a sliding scale with scholarships available in order to accommodate families in every economic situation.  Both portions (the parental obligation and the scholarship amount) of the tuition will be decided on an individual basis. A tuition guide can be seen here: 2010 - 2011 Monthly Tuition.

Some Children Eligible to Attend for As Little As $20 per Month

Tuition at Cornerstone Prep ranges from $20 per month per child to $1,000 per month.  This wide range of tuition is based on household income and the number of children in a household.

For example, if the household income is less than $18,000 per year then tuition is $20 per month per child for the 10 months the school is in session.  We want the parent or guardian to have a personal commitment and a financial obligation for the education each student.  We believe that making a personal commitment to participate in the education of the student is critical for each parent/guardian.

Review of student applications will be conducted by the Executive Director and the Principal to determine student eligibility based on the admissions criteria.

Scholarships of Up to $9,800 Available Based on Need

Scholarships will be awarded based on income and need as reviewed by the Executive Director and approved by the Principal.  The maximum scholarship available is for $9,800 per year which means eligible children will pay $20 per month or $200 per year.  Initial student applications for admission and requesting scholarship must be accompanied by the information requested in the scholarship application.  Students seeking to renew a scholarship must submit the most recent report card along or progress report with the financial aid application.

Students who are not in good standing based on academics, attendance, or conduct must meet with the Principal for a probationary hearing before a scholarship is renewed.  Students who do not meet renewal requirements or who are not granted probation will be not be admitted for the next academic term.
